Everyone has an untold story, Jamila Mohamed the managing editor of Citizen TV has a journey from modest beginnings to one of Kenya's top journalists.
In one of the interviews, the skilled journalist noted that after high school, media wasn't really a professional option for her.
"After finishing my computer classes, I heard an advertisement for a presenter position at IQRA FM, an Islamic radio station. I applied, and despite the fact that I lacked the necessary credentials, I was urged to attend the interviews”, she stated.

Jamila was offered the job of a sales representative when she went for the interview; "I was eager to try anything, so I agreed," she continued.
However, the award-winning anchor did not perform well in the sales representative position.
The person who was meant to read the news one day failed to appear, so the station manager chose her as a temporary replacement. Despite this, she gave it her all. And that is how her journalism journey began.
"The station manager saw some potential in me and I started doing bulletins," she recounted.
