Foi Karanja Wambui, better known by her stage name Auntie Foi, was born and raised in Eastlands, Nairobi, and at the age of just 23, she has already made a significant and grand breakthrough into the film industry.

The 25-year-old actress accepted a position of honor at the annual Kalasha Film and TV Awards. She is present among the elite members of the cinema and television industries on this particular Saturday not only as a VIP but also as a nominee and winner for Best Supporting Actress in a TV Drama.

Foi wears numerous hats, including that of a media personality, actor for the stage and cinema, YouTuber, and developer of digital content. She has gained popularity in the region thanks to her work on short films like Morning After, Uhuru, and Anda Kava, and thousands of people have grown to know her as a result of the TV stations that currently air the majority of these productions.

"I had quite a different vibe when I won Best Actress in a Film than when I won Best Actress in a TV Drama. You see, a TV show has many episodes, and as viewers follow your character, they can grow tired of it and refuse to watch. It is simple to become worn out while watching a TV series, say, episodes 1 through 50. This journey may alter the way you express yourself. A film is unique because it is just that—a short film. This triumph is confirmation. It's larger," she said.

When she succeeds in life, Foi claims her greatest dream is to become a foreign actress and a household name in Hollywood and on Netflix.

“This is for all young girls trying to make it,” a jubilant Foi Wambui said as the crowd cheered and clapped. “For a girl who won an award at the age of 16, this is to tell all young girls that you too can make it.”
