An altercation broke out in Houston leaving Rapper Takeoff dead

American rapper Takeoff is dead after an early morning shooting in Houston. The twenty-eight-year-old rapper was one-third of Migos. Takeoff whose real name was Kirshnik Khari Ball was lethally shot at a bowling alley in Houston. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other victims were also rushed to hospital in a private vehicle.

Takeoff had joined his uncle Quavo for a game of dice at around 2:30AM Houston time before the shooting. He and his groupmate Quavo were at the bowling alley and an altercation broke out. Someone opened fire and Takeoff was hit.

Just a couple of hours before the shooting, Takeoff posted a selfie from the bowling alley. Quavo had posted a video earlier in the night, driving around Houston with Jas Prince, who was celebrating his birthday.

28-year-old Takeoff was a key part of Migos, forming the group with his uncle Quavo, and cousin Offset. Migos’ breakout hit was 2013’s “Versace,” which later featured Drake. The rap trio went on to dominate the charts with other collaborators including Jay-Z, Beyonce, Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry and Lil Uzi Vert.

Recently, Quavo and Takeoff had released a project as the duo, “Unc & Phew.” They just released their latest music video, “Messy,” on Monday.
