American actor Kevin Hart pays tribute to his late father

American comedian and actor Kevin Hart, took to social media to announce the sad news of his father Henry Witherspoon’s death, aged 75.

“RIP to one of the realest and rawest to ever do it…Love you, dad. Gone but never forgotten….Give mum a hug for me….y’all did good, man. Thank you for everything….I’m a better father because of you. We will all make you proud,” he painfully wrote on his Instagram page.

The 43-year-old actor’s mother Nancy, died in 2007, following a battle with ovarian cancer.

The movie star attached several throwback photos of him and his father together with the star’s wife Eniko Hart and their children, reminiscing about the moments they spent together.

“My dad had lung cancer, overcame that, and I suppose now he has what they call COPD. It affects his breathing…he requires air.” Hart posted in a video clip.

The comedian posted a video regarding his father’s health problems on his Instagram page in 2019, although the cause of his late father’s death has not been revealed.

During a past interview, Kevin Hart opened up on how he mended the relationship with his father who missed out on most of his childhood, as he had been in and out of jail because of drug abuse.

“He’s my father, so no matter what, that’s not going to change. Regardless of my upbringing and the way I was raised and how often he was in my life, he’s my dad,” The comedian said.

He pointed out how he has learned from his father’s past mistakes inspiring him to be a good father.

“I choose to go positive instead of negative a lot and because of that, my relationship with my dad is amazing now! And my dad understands how I feel and how I look at things, and now my dad is focusing on being the best grandparent that he possibly can,” Hart said.

Kevin Hart’s fans and his celebrity friends passed on their condolences to the movie star for the demise of his father.
