DCI sleuths have swung into action to resolve the cause of death of Jeff Mwathi which has caused an uproar online. The mysterious death case entangles famous Mugithi artist DJ Fatxo.
The DCI intervention comes barely hours after interior CS Kithure Kindiki through his tweeter account asked the DCI to take up the investigation that was reported at Kasarani police station.
“On the matter of the late Jeff Mwathi, I have spoken to the DCI Mr. Amin this morning and instructed him to send a homicide team from the DCI headquarters to thoroughly investigate the incident and take the necessary action.”
The deceased a 23-year-old interior designer is reported to have jumped from DJ Fatxo’s Redwood Apartments around Safari Park Estate from the 12th floor and succumbed.
DCI officers from the homicide department have assured the public that the matter will be resolved promptly while urging those with relevant information to come forth and share.
“…any person found to have been involved in the death shall face the full force of the law. Meanwhile, anyone with information that may assist us, in this case, is asked to volunteer it to the head of Homicide at DCI headquarters …”
Reports indicate that Jeff met with Dj Fatxo for an interior design job before joining him for a fun night.
After a few drinks in three different clubs, the interior designer in the company of his cousin, a driver, headed to Dj Fatxo’s apartment at around 3 am.
Jeff was later captured on CCTV cameras flying from the singer’s house window before falling to death.
The singer’s lawyer Charles Mugane noted that his client is ready to cooperate with the investigative agencies.
