Eric Omondi, a former Churchill Show comic, plans to leave the business. He claims that the high cost of living is the cause of this.

The comedian claimed that in his 15 years in the comedy business, he had accomplished enough in an interview with Ramogi TV.

"The situation is serious. These are trying times. People are starving and suffering. They struggle to pay for necessities.

Thankfully, God has given me a platform and a voice. I have also been providing entertainment for the public for 16 years in the comedy business.

Churchill introduced me to comedy when we first met in 2008, which was. "The self-proclaimed President of Comedy Africa noted.

The comedian denied membership in any political party as well.

"I'm acting as Eric in this. I don't belong to any political group, and no one is promoting or funding me," he noted.

When asked if he was interested in running for office, Eric responded that he already had a large platform from which to advance his causes and did not require an election to do so.

"Most people follow me. Politicians don't need to support me in any way. I have enough money to support myself, so I'm not doing this to enlist their assistance. Everything I require is here. As a member of parliament, I'm not required to be elected." he added.

On Tuesday, the comedian was detained as he tried to deliver CVS orders to the Statehouse.
