At the age of 64, well-known Congolese musician Tshala Muana passes away. She was referred to as the "Mamu National" and was born in the Congolese community.
Tshala passed away early on Saturday morning, December 10, according to Congo news sources.
Her husband confirmed a demise in a Facebook post, "In the early hours of this morning, the good Lord made the decision to take over the national Mamu Tshala Muana. May the good God be glorified for all the good times she has given us on this earth. Farewell Mamu from m," he posted.
Popular rhumba songs by the late Muana Tshala include Tshibola, which was released in 1991, Karibou Yangu, which was released in 2010, and Malu, which was released in 2004.
She also featured in a movie, Life is Beautiful, L’orphelin. She began her career as a dancer for the great Zairan singer Abeti Massikini and later developed an interest in the music industry.
She has enjoyed success in several West African countries more than in her own country.
Muana Tshala will best be remembered for her good vocals, her dancing skills and her acting skills.
