After God arming man with a brain, it wasn’t God’s work to make decisions for man. In fact, Man gave names to plants and animals and God confirmed them.
This means man is not a robot at all costs and that he has a role to play. Man is supposed to till the land and eat from his sweat and the lord blesses the work of man’s hands.
President Ruto’s thanksgiving services that are organized every Sunday in different parts of the country since he assumed office has been filled with lots of politics.
In fact, they have been platforms for Ruto and his allies to respond to the opposition. This casts doubt as to whether these services are genuinely meant for prayers or for politics.
Now more than ever before the country is facing serious challenges of insecurity, drought, hunger, an ailing economy and constant politicking, one is then left to wonder whether payers will help solve these problems.
Various Countries around the world have faced by similar if not severe challenges like the one the country is facing today but prayer was not a solution.
Deliberate human interventions have been embraced at times of challenges and controversy.
Insecurity needs interventions, hunger needs more production of food even through irrigation, the ailing economy calls for revival and increased production in all sectors and climate change calls for mitigations, not prayers.
Is Ruto’s shift of attention from real issues to prayer a sign of a leader unable to handle challenges? Or Ruto is using prayer as modern opium for innocent Kenyans so that they can constantly think that only prayer can solve their problems even as Ruto’s regime finishes its office term.
Prayers can never take the place of duty! What is the urgent need for Kenya now, is it prayer or duty? I believe Kenya is a religious nation and everyone praying in the best way he/she knows how.
The Kenya kwanza government must ensure through duty that the economy is revived, the effects of climate change are mitigated, insecurity is dealt with and the cost of living is brought down otherwise these constant prayers will end up eating them.
