Locals who turned up in large numbers for the free medical camp lauded the initiative saying it is a big health boost considering the cost of eye cataracts is not affordable to vulnerable persons. 

They say the aid comes at a time where tough economic times that such expensive medical procedure is not a priority to the needy. 

According to needy beneficiaries, eye problem is a major hindrance to the well-being of the person affected and the entire family. 

Medics say the rampant cases of eye problems including eye cataracts and trachoma among Pastoralist communities is a result of lifestyle. 

They say the rampant cases can be reduced through sensitization initiatives on eye care including improving hygiene.
