She criticized the community for treating periods as a menace and they should accept periods as a blessing,
“We need to actually realize that there are girls out there who are struggling with menstruation and we all need to find a way of reaching out to them,” she said.
The forum was also used to explain that having periods is normal and information concerning it shouldn’t be kept secret. She urged the community to make a difference in the lives of the girls lacking sanitary pads.
“I’m calling upon each and every person to make sure a girl does not miss school because of menstruation. Let us address it.” She added.
Mumbi also observed that the students of the school have been dealing with menstruation in an unhygienic way and she was relieved by the fact that with the education provided, the girls will be handling their periods safely.
