A 78-year-old man in Bumula Constituency, Bungoma County, is recovering from injuries after his daughter-in-law allegedly bit his private parts following a dispute.
Evelyn Okello, his son's second wife, is reported to have attacked Vincent Barasa on Saturday while he was attempting to break up an argument between the two at their house in Kimaeti sub-county.
Barasa claims that he was eating dinner at his home when he heard a disturbance in his son Godfrey Wekesa's home. He was alerted by one of his grandsons that his daughters-in-law were fighting.
According to witnesses, Everlyn Okelo, the suspect in question, is said to have been enraged by her father-in- law’s choice to defend her co-wife.
He hurried to the site right away to try to break up the fight, but when he encountered resistance, he made the quick decision to leave.
After turning around, the woman immediately followed him and whacked him with a stone. The woman sat on him while he was unconscious and biting his chest.
The woman moved back and bit the old man's privates, making him unable to push her away.
“The woman apparently became enraged as I was turning around because she hurled a stone at me, hitting the back of my head. She then started biting my manhood,” he said.
After the event, enraged neighbors arrived at the scene and gave a thorough beating to the woman and her husband before taking the man to get treatment.
Wekesa claimed that his wife was violent and frequently made threats to harm him and his daughter.
The locals said that the woman must undergo cultural punishment since the Bukusu traditions prohibit physical interactions between in-laws.
The woman who fled into hiding is currently being hunted down by the police.
