The late Education CS professor George Magoha is set to get a farewell ceremony befitting his stature.

Speaking to journalists at the late CS’s home in Lavington, the speaker of the late minister’s funeral arrangement committee Julias Jwan has told journalists that the former CS would get a three-day caravan in Nairobi before being laid to rest at his home in Umiru Siaya county.

Before his burial on 11th February 2023 at his ancestral home in Umiru Siaya County, a series of events were laid out in order to bid goodbye to the renowned scholar.

"On February 8, 2023, a farewell caravan shall proceed from Lee Funeral Home through some of the places that defined Prof. Magoha's adult life including the College of Health Sciences at Kenyatta Hospital, the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council headquarters and the Nigerian High Commission," Jwan, said.

"The caravan will also pass by St. George's Primary School, the Kenya National Examination Council headquarters, State House Girl High School, the University of Nairobi Graduation Square and Starehe Boys Centre where he spent his secondary school life."

Magoha’s requiem mass will be held on February 9th at the Consolata Shrine in wetlands Nairobi from 9 a.m.

On February 10, the body will arrive at Township Primary School in Yala at 1 pm before a procession leading up to St. Mary's High School Yala and subsequently a holy mass to follow at his home in Umiru.

Jwan explained that Magoha’s dedication to the education system is what informed the places the caravan will pass and park as his body is transported for burial.

Magoha's funeral mass service will be held on February 11 at Odera Kango University in Yala from 10 am.

The family will give a follow-up update on the late CS’s funeral arrangements on Tuesday, February 7, at his Lavington home.
