What Caused the Death of the Five Nakuru Babies

Five babies born to a youthful couple in Nakuru County have died hours after their birth.

Nakuru Level IV hospital superintendent Dr Aisha Maina confirmed to the media of the Babies’ passing.

At 7 months, the babies were delivered, and while the mother was getting better, they were put in incubators.

The newborn weights of the four girls and one boy ranged from 650 grams to 500 grams.

Dr Aisha Maina had previously stated that the children's prospects of survival were poor because their internal organs hadn't fully matured at the time of the quintuplets' birth.

This is not the first time that the birth of quintuplets was recorded in Kenya. The world record of most birth children stands at eight.

The couple, Simon Kinyanjui and his wife Margaret Wairimu received best wishes from Kenyans after their birth.
