Every four years Countries all over the world unite and renew their love affair with the World Cup. People of the same country divide themselves largely into two rival groups with each of the groups supporting a country of its own choice. During this year’s World Cup, a whole lot of bunch happened during the finals. We will never see anything like that again. Celebrations have clutched Argentina where tens of thousands of fans flooded the streets of Buenos Aires after the Argentinian Team’s World Cup win. The first ever world cup win since their last win back in 1986.

This year’s World Cup has been one of a kind, being the first World Cup in the Middle East, the first in a Muslim country, the first in mid-winter, the first to be alcohol-free in stadiums, the first to see no arrests of any UK citizens. This World Cup has been truly unique.

Was this Messi’s last World cup? Is the G.O.A.T debate really over? this is the one-million-dollar question that football fans and players across the world are trying to figure out. With Messi achieving every award that is there to be achieved in the world of football, most people feel like winning the World Cup for him would be a perfect way for him to end his football career.

“For those who know football know that tonight's result didn't determine whether Messi was the best player ever or not but yet I'm so happy he did for the people who thought he needed it so now there's no debate.” James Maddison an attacking midfielder for Leicester City said.

Even though Messi had previously claimed Qatar 2022 would be his last World Cup, on a dizzying night in Lusail he said he felt like he wants to keep playing for Argentina after the World Cup win.

“Obviously I wanted to complete my career with this I can’t ask for more. Finishing my career this way is impressive. After this, what else? I have a Copa América, a World Cup, almost at the very end. I love football, what I do. I enjoy being part of the national team, the group. I want to enjoy a couple more matches being a world champion.” Messi said
