Vikapu Elites Basketball Academy Co-founder Zedekiah Otieno Ong'anga has been selected as an associate coach with NBA's Washington Wizards during this year's summer league scheduled to take place in Las Vegas from the 7th to 17th of July.
Zedekiah is the first Kenyan to be selected as an associate coach, joining other top coaches in Africa and the NBA who will be part of the 10-day summer league in one of America's famous cities. Ong'anga also doubles up as the Kenyan U-18 basketball national team assistant coach.
His selection is part of an initiative Basketball Africa League to expose top coaches to learn from their counterparts on the world's most watched basketball league the NBA yo be able to improve the sport locally.
Ong'anga's Vikapu Elites Basketball Academy which is Kenya's premier Basketball Academy offers opportunity to basketball lovers aged 5 to 20 years, both boys and girls to high level basketball training and exposure locally and even abroad.
Vikapu Elites Basketball Academy which has at least 2000 players across Kenya's Capital Nairobi has enabled some of it's players land university scholarships in the USA and the United Kingdom.
Zedekiah, whose basketball academy aims at building basketball skills of players at a tender age will participate in the Summer league which offers a glimpse into the NBA future as rookies from this years draft suit up for the first time with their new squads in the competition. The league also serves as a stage for second and third year players seeking to showcase their talents as well as a selection of undrafted players hoping to Parlay a great summer showing into a training camp.
