United States of America President Joe Biden doubts if Russian President Vladimir Putin will use a tactical nuclear weapon on Ukraine. He mentioned this during a recent TV interview. Ukraine has pleaded for an immediate increase in the western military. Ukraine wants to defend itself against missile strikes on its cities. Russia has already launched missile attacks on several cities in Ukraine including Kyiv two days after the only bridge linking Russia with occupied Crimea was damaged in a blast. However, US President Joe Biden held a meeting with G7 leaders and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday, amid a multi-day avalanche of Russian missiles targeting Ukrainian energy facilities. He pledged to continue providing Ukraine with the support needed to defend itself.
“You listen to what he says. If you listen to the speech he made after when that decision was being made, he talked about the whole idea of – he was needed to be the leader of Russia that united all of Russian speakers. I mean, it’s just I just think it’s irrational.” US President Joe Biden said.
G7 countries vowed during the meeting to hold Russian President Vladimir Putin and those responsible accountable for the recent attacks in Ukraine. US President Joe Biden conveyed his condolences to the loved ones of those killed and injured during the attacks. He also underscored his ongoing engagement with allies and partners to continue imposing costs on Russia. Russia is held accountable for its war crimes and atrocities, and providing Ukraine with security, economic, and humanitarian assistance.
United States President Joe Biden has also pledged to offer Ukraine with advanced air defense systems. The White House did not specify which air defense systems President Biden discussed with Ukrainian President Zelensky, but the United States committed to providing Ukraine with National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Systems which would be capable of engaging Russian cruise missiles.
