Two Suspected Bandits Arrested In Baringo as Police Intensify Operation In North Rift

As security operations intensifies in the North Rift region, Police on Tuesday 9th may 2023 arrested two suspected bandits in Mukutani, Baringo county and recovered a firearm.

Baringo County Police Commandant Julius Kiragu said that the pair was arrested on Tuesday morning by security officers who have been on guard for some time. The officers were offered some assistance by the members of the public.

Mr. Kiragu said the culprits have been previously accused of  engaging in the sale of stolen motorbikes in Isiolo and Meru Counties to buy ammunition which they supply to bandits in Baringo.

Baringo County Commissioner Steven Kutwa expressed optimism that the issue of insecurity will be a thing of the past since they are narrowing down chief perpetrators.
