Tragedy Strike Lake Victoria As Two Brothers Drown

After their two kids drowned in Lake Victoria, a family from Mageta Island in Bondo, Siaya County, is in deep sorrow.

The two kids who are said to be brothers drowned in the evening of Tuesday.

According to reports, Dedan Omondi Damai and Wycliffe Onyango Damai were on a usual fishing trip near Sirongo beach when heavy winds caused their boat to capsize.

The two brothers had finished casting their nets, according to the chairman of Sika Beach Julius Odembo and were heading back to the lake's shore when they tragically perished.

Sources say some fishermen tried to rescue the brothers but their efforts bore no fruits as bodies have not yet been found

Mr Odembo pleaded with the local fisherman to bring back the pair's bodies if they came across them so that the brothers may be laid to rest.

This was said as he pleaded with the Siaya County administration to help locate the bodies of the two.
