Three Robbery Suspects Arrested in Kayole over Possession Firearms

Police in Kayole area of Nairobi on Saturday, January 14, 2023, arrested three suspects in connection with the wave of robberies recently witnessed in the city.

In a news report released by the National Police Service, Officers made the arrests after receiving information from members of the public that a guy was looking for ammunition and was suspected of having a gun.

"The suspect was intercepted in Matopeni area while aboard a motorcycle. A quick search revealed an empty magazine in the suspect's pocket leading to the arrest of both men," the statement read.

Upon investigations in the house of the third suspect, police recovered a black plastic imitation firearm stashed in a shoe rack.

"After further interrogation, the officers made the third arrest of a suspect, who was to supply ammunition to the main suspect and the recovery of a pistol in the first suspect's house," the statement added.

The suspects are currently being held in police custody pending arraignment in court.

National Police Service(NPS) also praised local citizens for providing information to police, stating that it will help the city get rid of illegal firearms.
