Three suspected thugs have been netted by police officers for allegedly masterminding highway robberies along the Kenol- Sagana highway.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the suspects are believed to be part of a gang that harasses and robs motorists using the highway.
At their arrest, they were found in possession of machetes and other crude weapons which have in the recent past been causing roadblocks and attacking the road users.
The police explained that they conducted investigations in Makuyu within the Kambiti and Kitini area, before tracking down the thugs.
The three masterminds are set to be charged with aggravated robberies.
The authorities are seemingly active in probing the rest of the gang that has been causing unrest along the road.
In addition, DCI has urged Kenyans to assist in the ongoing operation, to put an end to this crime.
