The Kenya Cup Champions Face the Quins and Oilers in the Semifinals on Saturday.

The Kenya cup semifinals are set to go down on Saturday at 4 pm, where the Kabras sugar team will be hosting the Harlequins team at the Kakamegas how ground and KCB will be giving a welcoming visit to the Menengai oilers at KCB Ruaraka sports ground.

The two-time champions, Kabras sugar finished first while the KCB finished second during the Kenya cup regular league season, which ended on Saturday after a successful play of 11 matches hence both teams were given a chance to host the semifinals. The Kabras sugar knocked out the quins for the sixth consecutive time 7-17 in Kakamega during the regular Kenya Cup season.

The Quins team have met with the Kabras sugar in the Kenya cup 11 times. During the 2016 semifinals, the Kabras prevailed against the quins beating them to score points of 19-15 furthermore battled the Impala Saracens resulting in a score point of 22-5 at the Impala Sports Club.

Kabras sugar has triumphed 9 times with the Ngong road -side, beating them last after a score of 19- 17 at the RFUEA grounds however, the Ngong road-side showed an improvement in this match since they beat the 10 points mark for the first time since playing against the Sugarmen in 2018.

The western rugby champions are currently at the top of the log with 52 points displacing the 8-time champions KCB who lost to the oilers who are settled third after seven wins and four losses with 37 points. The Kabras team will not only have their eighth consecutive final but also will have the fourth home final, after they topped the standings for the fifth time consecutively.

The harlequins team started behind this season after losing 3 opening matches to KCB, Oilers and Kabras Sugar by a score of 38-0,24-10,27-12 respectively. The KCB has had 8 encounters with the Oilers where the bankers won all the matches except one. They lost last year to the Oilers after a remarkable score of 24-17 in the Kenya Cup semifinals at Ruaraka.

The KCB will have to up their game against the Menengai oilers to avoid penalties like their last game against Kabras sugar on February 18th where they lost 29-23.

The Kenya Cup promotion is on and all the winners will be promoted to the Kenya Cup next season.

The KRU championship semifinals will include the Daystar Falcons play who will be visiting Kisumu at the Strathmore University grounds, furthermore, at the Ngong Racecourse, the Non descripts will host the south coast pirates.
