Tharaka Nithi Senatorial Aspirant Found Dead After Wife Declined To Be Guarantor in A 2 Billion Loan

Police have launched an investigation into the Murder of 50-year-old politician and businessman Francis Kambi who was found dead in his room in Karen on Monday 9, February 2023.

A police report seen by Look UP Digital indicates that the businessman’s body was discovered by his wife Mary Waigwe Muthoni who reported to the police that they had returned home together after spending time at an entertainment joint in Karen.

According to the police report, "the couple had some marital issues because the reportee had refused to guarantee the deceased a loan of KSh2 billion which he intended to acquire to launch a business."

After the couple disagreed on the loan request, they seemingly spent the night in different rooms until the time body of the deceased was discovered on Monday Morning.

“The deceased never woke up after spending the night in a different room, yet he could be heard snoring all day and all night and had vomited in his bedroom. When she went to check on the deceased this morning (Monday) at around 6:00 a.m., she discovered him lying dead on his bed with some vomit next to the bed.” Read the police report

According to police, the body of the deceased had no visible injuries and was taken to Lee Funeral Home as police launch their investigation.

The deceased attempted to run for the Tharaka Nithi Senatorial seat but was not successful.
