Super Metro Bus Collides With A Lorry Along Kisumu-Nairobi Highway

Scores are feared dead following a grisly accident involving a bus and a lorry ferrying sugar in Ahero, Kisumu County.

The Super Metro bus collided head-on with the lorry along the Kisumu-Nairobi Highway while trying to overtake. This Incident occurred on Monday Morning at around 2:30 am.

In an official statement, Super Metro acknowledged the incident and expressed condolences to the grieving families.

“As Supermetro family would like to inform the public that it’s so unfortunate that one of our busses was involved in an accident before Awasi along Kisumu, Nairobi highway,” the statement read.

“We wish a quick recovery to those who are in the hospital and pass our sincere condolences to the families that lost their loved ones.”

The Kenya Red Cross has stated that they are actively offering psychosocial support and overseeing individuals impacted by the accident.

Numerous casualties have been transported to the Ahero Sub-County Hospital, with critical cases redirected to the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital as reported by the Kenya Red Cross.
