Former Tharaka Nithi Senatorial aspirant, Francis Kiambi Kiriro, found dead at his home in Karen, Nairobi County.
In a police report seen by Look UP TV Digital it was reported that her wife Mary Waigwe Muthoni found her husband’s body at 6 A.M on Monday, January 9.
The wife apparently declined to be her husband's guarantor in order for him to obtain the Ksh. 2 billion loan he was looking for to launch a business, which allegedly led to some marital issues between the pair.
After the disagreement, the pair went ahead to sleep in different rooms, only for the 50-year-old politician-businessman to be discovered dead with vomit at his bedside.
“They each spent the night in different rooms and the deceased never woke up since then, but could be heard snoring throughout the day and night and had vomited in his bedroom. It was until today at around 0600hrs when she went to check on the deceased and she found him lying dead on his bed with some vomits beside the bed,” reads the police report.
"They contacted a doctor from the Karen hospital, who at around 09:02 o'clock confirmed the dead,” added.
The businessman's body, which has since been transported to Lee Funeral Home, had no obvious injuries, according to police who responded to the scene.
Following his death Interior CS Kithuri Kindiki mourns Francis Kiambi as an iconic businessman.
"We are poorer as a people without this brave and selfless leader. Matanka's leadership, towering personality and generosity will be missed by many, particularly Tharaka community among whom he had made life-changing and impactful investments. This reminds us all that we are passers-by on this earth and life is just but fickle." CS Kithuri Kindiki.
