The 2023 F1 Car Mimicked In The Game

Kenyan Formula 1 fans have a chance to be part of the 2023 season virtually by participating in the ongoing Red Bull Racers consumer activation. The fans will experience the adrenaline that comes with taking part in a Formula 1 race as they compete against each other to achieve the fastest times on the virtual circuit based on the Austrian GP.

Powered by intuitive graphics and an easy-to-use interface, fans participating in the competition will feast on the real sounds of this season’s RB19; with the main challenge for the game being able to drive at such high speeds through the virtual circuit corners while shifting manually just like the real circuit drivers.

Players of the game will get to experience improvements of the new Red Bull car which is completely different from the car that delivered championships and records in 2022.

The game promises to allow the players to feel the fixes to the iterations of the Red Bull RB18 race car which was heavier and more difficult to drive early in the season as the rest of the F1 teams were slowly coming to terms with the regulations set by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile that saw car designs radically change in 2022.

With a simple storyboard, the game effortlessly mimics the options faced by F1 drivers on the circuit. Players will have to contend with unfinished races reminiscent of Red Bull’s 2022 F1 season opener at the Bahrain International Circuit, where technical issues in the latter stages of the race forced Verstappen and Pérez to retire short of the finish.

Red Bull made its debut in Formula 1 in 1995 when it first sponsored the Sauber team. Since its entry into the competition, it continues to be among the most successful with a total of six constructor’s championships and six driver’s championships in the decade alone. This has been achieved through an impressive 107 race victories accompanied by 257 podium finishes. The first 100 race wins to date have been achieved across 19 seasons alone with more than half of the victories, more specifically; 52 coming from pole position. Some of the most memorable wins out of the 100 was during the 2022 season in Belgium where Verstappen moved from position 14th on the grid to the top position.

Reigning double world champion Verstappen holds the most victories out of Red Bull’s wins so far, leading the board at  41; a record he started by winning on his debut for the team at the 2016 Spanish Grand Prix.

Participating fans who register the top times to be on the game’s leader’s board will walk away with assorted and authentic Red Bull Racing merchandise; including hoodies and caps. The competition, which runs until the 31st of October 2023, can be accessed on the Red Bull Kenya website where participants will be required to register to be eligible to win. The competition will also be run in all major supermarkets, where shoppers will be able to scan a QR code to participate.
