Silas Jakakimba, a close ally to Azimio la Umoja’s Raila Odinga has resigned as a lifetime ODM Member.
The renowned blogger was instrumental in drumming up support for Raila Odinga’s candidacy in the August 9 general elections.
This comes after an online altercation with Winnie Odinga- the daughter of the veteran opposition leader.
During a recent photoshoot with President William Ruto, Silas Jakakimba, a former aide to ODM party leader Raila Odinga, claimed that Winny Odinga, the opposition leader's daughter, had insulted him.
According to Winnie, Jakakimba's Twitter cover photo, which shows him with Ruto during the President's most recent visit to Homa Bay county, irked her.
When Raila was the prime minister of Kenya from 2008 to 2013, Jakakimba worked as his personal assistant.
Jakakimba expressed disappointment in Winnie's disrespect for him and others who had supported her father throughout his political career in a tweet.
"Winnie Odinga used the ‘F’ word on me last night for what she terms betrayal in lieu of my cover Photo. What she fails to appreciate: We respect Jakom-done half the yrs of my life and & if she cares to know, we’ve had to hard-furnace via invisible sacrifices to that cadre of loyalty. "Moving forward, Winnie Odinga must learn to respect people for who they are – if not least, for what they’ve been in a long journey of several lows and countable highs, for love of Country," Jakakimba wrote.
This according to political analyst Edmond Wanyama pushed the former Raila Odinga’s Personal assistant to hang his boots at the ODM Party.
