Attorney Saitabao Ole Kanchory, who served as the Chief Agent for Azimio Leader Raila Odinga spoke candidly on why Raila Odinga lost in the 2022 August general election.

The renowned lawyer wrote a book titled Why Baba Is Not The Fifth in an effort to refute detractors who had previously claimed he was Ruto's snitch in the Azimio camp.

Kanchory paints a picture of disunity and disorientation in the Azimio La Umoja camp that led to their candidate being beaten hands down by William Ruto in the past general election.

The lawyer further penned down what transpired in the command centre. He compares the coalition's election command centre, which was run by Muhoho Kenyatta, the younger brother of the then-president Uhuru Kenyatta, to the Tower of Babel.

He disclosed an alleged conflict between former Interior principal secretary Karanja Kibicho and former Information and Communications Technology Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru.

Kanchory described how some of Uhuru's senior government figures remained uninterested in supporting Raila because they believed they would not gain entry to the ODM leader's inner circle before others already close to him as the leader of Azimio had named part of his cabinet.

According to the chief agent in the book, most top officials resorted to using the campaign period to earn money in anticipation of returning home because they believed they had little chance of being appointed to Raila's government.

The pre-eminent lawyer who was President William Ruto’s close ally reveals that in one incident he came across a chunk of money in one of the Cabinet Secretary’s offices.

Kanchory also ascribed Makua Mutua and MP Junet Mohammed responsibility for the chaos and disarray at its Westlands-based command centre.

The well-known lawyer however maintains that Azimio la Umoja Won the August Elections and that their victory was stolen.
