Azimio-One Kenya’s presidential candidate Raila Odinga will address the nation today (Tuesday) afternoon at the Azimio Media center at KICC.

Through an invitation to the media, Raila Odinga Presidential Campaign Secretariat Dennis Onsarigo said the former prime minister will deliver his speech at around 2 pm.

“ATTENTION MEDIA: Azimio La Umoja Coalition Leader Rt Hon Raila Odinga’s address to the Nation. Time: 2 pm Location: KICC, Azimio Media Center. Kindly provide Coverage,” Onsarigo tweeted.

This will be the first time Odinga appears in public since the IEBC commission announced the results of the presidency where they declared Ruto the winner.

On Monday evening, IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati announced UDA candidate William Ruto as president-elect following the August 9 election.

According to IEBC, Ruto won with 7,176,141 votes (50.49%) while Raila came second with 6,942,930 votes (48.85%).

However, four commissioners, led by Vice-chairperson Julian Cherera disowned the results, terming them opaque.

“We cannot take ownership of the results that is going to announced at the Bomas of Kenya because of the opaque nature of how the process was handled,” said Cherera.

All eyes are now on Odinga, many looking forward to whether he will move to the supreme court to challenge IEBC’s decision or decide to retire from active politics.

Martha Karua, Raila’s running mate, hinted at a possibility of the coalition proceeding to the supreme, saying their journey to the state house is not yet over.

“It is not over until it is over,” She tweeted before proceeding to re-share Cherera’s presser where they expressed their disagreement with the results and advised those not satisfied to proceed to the supreme court.
