Bayern Munich and Real Madrid yesterday settled for a 2-2 draw in Germany in the first leg of their semi-final encounter.
The high-stakes game was full of drama and action throughout the 90 minutes. Both sides showed their class and prowess to give the neutrals an exciting watch leaving them waiting for the second leg.
Vinicius Junior put Real Madrid ahead in the 24th minute after a delightful pass from German midfielder Toni Kroos who put him through on goal. Vinicius kept his cool to slide the ball past Manuel Neuer.
Bayern Munich’s winger Leroy Sane wasted two clear chances in the first half to make Tuchel a frustrated figure on the touchline. In the 53rd minute, Sane cut in from the right and scored to put Bayern level and lift the home crowd.
Four minutes later, Jamal Musiala won a penalty for Bayern which Englishman Harry Kane scored past Andriy Lunin. Bayern looked the more likely to win the game before centre-back Kim Min Jae conceded a poor penalty late on.
Vinicius kept his cool to put Madrid level. Bayern were the better side creating more clear-cut chances with Real Madrid opting to sit back and attack on the counter.
The second leg will take place in Madrid next week on Wednesday.
