President Ruto Is A Proud Grandfather

Following the birth of a child by his eldest son Nick Ruto and his wife, President William Ruto has announced that he is now a grandfather.

In accordance with Kalenjin traditions, Nick, a lawyer by trade, wed his girlfriend Evelyn Chemtai in January of last year during a vibrant "koito" ceremony.

An delighted Ruto thanked the people of Laikipia County for gifting him a daughter-in-law and announced that they have since been blessed with a young one during an interdenominational prayer ceremony on Sunday at Nanyuki Stadium.

“Last year, we came here to pay dowry and I now want to thank the people of Laikipia, who gave my son a wife, because we have been blessed with a grandchild,” said President Ruto.

“Perhaps my being early here has to do with that! So thank you to the people of Laikipia for giving be a daughter-in-law. Our family is growing,” he added.

In 1991, President Ruto wed Rachel, and the two became parents to seven kids.

Former Chief Justice David Maraga granted Nick admission to the bar in 2019 and appointed him an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.

Jane Ruto, a diplomat with the Foreign Ministry, and Charlene Ruto who has been in the headlines lately for her various engagements across the country and abroad are his siblings. Since her father became president in September of last year, Charlene has made news for her numerous activities both domestically and overseas.

Stephanie, Cullie, George, and Nadia are the other children of President Ruto.
