President William Ruto underlined the necessity to use digital channels of communication because "traditional" ones were impeding the delivery of government services.
The government will stop using paper for communication, according to President William Ruto, as it begins to digitize services in the next six months.
As a result, he declared that communication will no longer be done on paper beginning with the next cabinet meeting.
“Mercy Wanjau has informed us that our meetings will be paperless starting with the upcoming cabinet meetings, president Ruto stated, we are going to run our cabinet using the digital space.”
“It takes more time to send a letter than an email. The email comes instantly, the letter informs us that we must acquire a messenger, another motorbike, another messenger, a receptionist, and all sorts of bureaucracy on the other side," he stated.
Speaking during a Cabinet Retreat at the Fairmont Mt Kenya Safari Club in Nyeri County, President Ruto emphasized that ‘traditional’ forms of communication were derailing government service delivery and thus the need to tap into the digital space.
