The Glazer family's decision to consider selling Manchester United could be positive, according to manager Erik ten Hag, and he has been assured that any change in ownership won't affect the "objectives, goals, and culture" of the team.
The Glazers have come under harsh criticism for the club's five-year trophy drought, and the fans have been calling for a change in ownership. The squad boasts a record 13 Premier League championships.
Seventeen years after purchasing the club, United's American owners this month started considering their options for the 20-time English champions, including new investment or a potential sale.
Manager Erik said that United needed to invest just to stay competitive in the Premier League and that it was crucial that the money be used wisely.
"Newcastle are coming, even West Ham, maybe not now in the table but they have huge investment ... You can quickly count seven or eight clubs that can compete in this league," he said.
Ten Hag claimed that he had communicated with United CEO Richard Arnold about the plans rather than the owners.
Erik said it is not all about money but strategy and clarified about having the right players and quality ones in order to be successful.
