Azimio La Umoja One Kenya presidential candidate Raila Odinga is ahead of Kenya Kwanza Dr. William Ruto, according to the results of the opinion poll released on Tuesday, August 2, 2022.
According to the research conducted by Ipsos Kenya company, 47 percent of the voters surveyed across the country said they would vote for Mr. Odinga.
On the other hand, 41 percent of those voters said that they will support Dr. Ruto who is also the Deputy President of the current government.
Roots party presidential candidate George Wajackoyah has the support of 2.9 percent of the voters while David Mwaure Waihiga is expected to be voted for by 0.2 percent.
5.1 percent of those approached in the study refused to say which presidential candidate they will vote for, while 3.8 percent of them said they have not made a decision about their preferred candidate.
According to the Public Affairs Officer at the Ipsos company Sam Muthoka, a total of 6,105 people were interviewed in the survey from all 47 counties within the last week.
“The interviews were conducted face-to-face and the interviewees are only those who are registered as voters,” Mr. Muthoka told reporters at the Serena restaurant, Nairobi.
A total of 11 counties are seen as those that will witness the intense competition between these main presidential candidates.
