Police Raid Former Interior CS Fred Matiangi's Home In an Attempt to Arrest Him.

Dozens of elite police officers on Wednesday night surrounded the house of former Interior CS Fred Matiang'i near KCB Karen Center.

The news was confirmed by his brother John Matiang'i. According to his brother, the officers, are trying to break into the compound.

The motive behind the night security operation at the former security minister's home remains unclear.

Speaking at the scene, Azimio leader Raila Odinga said the late-night arrests were a form of dictatorship calling on the government to do the right thing if the Former CS has committed a crime.

"If Matiangi has committed a crime it should be made public and allowed to record a statement." Said Raila.

Raila had vowed to Stand with Matiangi and not allow him to be arrested. 

His lawyer Danstan Omari said close to 200 lawyers were manning Matiangi's home to prevent the police from arresting him illegally.

The lawyers and the ODM leader Raila Odinga have said Matiangi's life is in danger as there is no clear motive as to why the officers seek to arrest Matiangi.
