Reverend Timothy Njoya walked out as proceedings to install the newly elected David Nderitu Ndumo into the Treasurer's office which was ongoing at St Andrew's Church in Nairobi.
The controversial cleric was unpleased by the Moderator and returning officer Rev Thegu Mutahi who had hushed objections to Ndumo’s assumption of office as Treasurer.
Earlier, a delegate had raised objection to the installation of Mr Ndumo as Hon Treasurer after the Hon. Lady Justice A. N. Ongeri issued an injunction order barring the Church officials from implementing recommendations from the Business Committee to have Ndumo installed.
Mr Ndumo failed to pay a total of Sh. 7.6 million being proceeds from a Sheria SACCO loan with interest and subjecting his guarantors to untold financial despair after their salaries have been deducted to offset the loan.
There was drama when the Moderator asked Rev Njoya who was ordered by Rev Mutahi to return and bow down before he existed as everything unfolded before a calm
Mr Ndumo was installed in total contempt of court after Rev. Mutahi, the Secretary General Rev. Dr. Robert Waihenya ignored the injuction orders.
