Pastor Ezekiel Odero has asked the court to lift the order freezing his bank accounts. In an application before a Mombasa Court, Pastor Ezekiel Odero sought short-term orders stopping investigators from executing the orders given by Milimani Magistrates Miscellaneous Criminal Application Number E1348 of 2023.

The Pastor also wants the case file, all proceedings and directives from Milimani Magistrate Court to be carried out by Mombasa High Court to stop the order that was issued on 8th May 2023.

According to Pastor Ezekiel, the issue of freezing his accounts was already a topic of a petition before the supreme court, the Directorate of Criminal Investigation, the Attorney General and the Director of Public Prosecution.

The order given was to freeze the bank account of Pastor Ezekiel Odero alongside the New Life Prayer Centre and Church together with Kilifi International School.

Pastor Ezekiel was arrested on 27th April and detained at Port Police for seven days for allegedly working with the controversial Malindi preacher Paul Mackenzie. He was released on 4th May 2023 on a cash bail of Ksh1.5 million after the court found out that there was no compelling reason to detain him.
