Three notorious robbers suspected of stealing health service commodities and supplies have been nubbed by police officers in Nairobi County.
The arrest was effected by Nairobi City County enforcement.
According to the county government, the health service commodities were raided from Lady Northey hospital on Tuesday, February 21.
The suspects were smoked out of a suspicious Toyota van that had carried the medical supplies whose value is yet to be confirmed.
The three suspects were taken to Kilimani police station where they will be detained before being arraigned in court.
Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja sent a strict warning to other medical Bulgars who are yet to be arrested to surrender or else they will face it rough.
“We apprehended them following a tip-off. They will be an example to others. We do our best to ensure our patients get drugs and a few people think they can steal commodities meant for the public to sell and earn profits.
He went ahead to urge the public to work hand in hand with the county government to weed out lintels who steal resources meant for the public.
“Please share with us any intel when you spot unusual activities in hospitals. Help us serve you better,” Sakaja urged.
Governor Sakaja flagged off the health products and supplies worth sh 244 million on Wednesday, February 15.
