Hospital Hill, Dr Aggrey, St Joseph’s, St Anthony’s Kitale are on their way to defend the titles in different categories in the ongoing National Kenya secondary school championships in Eldoret.
Reigning Handball champions Hospital Hill from Nairobi will be competing with former champions Musingu in the semifinal one, while Manyatta from Nyanza will be playing against Mbooni from Machakos in semifinal two.
Reigning basketball champion Dr Aggrey from Coast will be seeking to defend their title against Dagoretti from Nairobi in basketball boy’s semifinal one as multinational champions Laizer Nairobi will be seeking to reclaim their lost glory when they play against Lukenya from Eastern at Nova Pioneer School grounds.
In handball, the defending champion St Joseph’s Kitale from RiftValley will be fighting to get a slot in the final against Miranga from Nyanza. While in the second semifinal Moi girls Kamusinga from Western will play against Nyathuna from Central at Hill school grounds.
Maurine Sitati of St Joseph’s said they are aiming to defend their title.
"Our aim is to defend the title and represent the country in the East African games in Rwanda." Said Sitati after defeating Nyathuna from Central to top in pool A.
Defending hockey boys’ champions St Anthony’s Kitale from Rift-Valley will be up against Mang’u from Central in semi-final one.
Semi-final two will be Meru from Eastern up against Western’s Musingu at Hill school secondary grounds.
In hockey, girls will see a new champion come Saturday, in the semifinal one Nyamira from Nyanza will be up against Nyayo from Nairobi. In the second semifinal Tigoi from Western will be going against St Joseph Kitale
In Rugby's 15 which is an open field after Kakamega high were defeated in the Western regional games by Butula. in semifinal one Rugby All Saints from Eastern will be up against St Anthony’s Kitale, while in semifinal two it will be against Butula from Western and Ofafa Jericho from Nairobi playing at Eldoret Sports Club.
