Murang’a Women Representative Betty Maina threatens to push for the ouster of former Kandara Mp now CS water Alice Wahome.
This comes just days after the conclusion of Kandara's by-election.
Maina attacked Water CS Alice Wahome, claiming that she abandoned her duty to engage in ‘cheap politics’ and accused her of campaigning for the opponent in the By-elections.
Betty Maina's statements were spurred by the fact that Alice allegedly favored Ford Asili's Titus Njau Mbuchu rather than UDA's Chege Njuguna, who recently won Kandara MP seat after garnering 21,650 votes against Ford Asili's Titus Njau Mbuchu who got 14, 678 votes.
“I am pleading with Ruto to direct the ministers to focus on their work and leave politics to politicians. Murang'a is not the Ministry of Water, she is a CS and not a village person,” Betty Maina stated.
She further added that if Alice Wahome continued to meddle in local politics, she would push to have her dismissed from her office.
“If she brings back political issues here in the village, we will make her a village person. She should concentrate on her work,” she added.
Muranga leaders led by Kandara Member County Assembly Diana Muthoni and Abiria Chege, however, did not take her remarks lightly and urged the Women Rep to respect the minister.
While pressing Betty Maina to apologize for her "loose mouth," the leaders urged that women should support their own and not tolerate insults, adding that the Women Rep had thrived in politics by insulting other leaders.
