Motorists Forced to Spend Night on the Road Following Heavy Traffic Along Nairobi- Nakuru Highway

Heavy traffic continues to snarl up along Nairobi- Nakuru highway, forcing motorists to spend long hours on the road since Friday evening.

According to reports presented to the Look UP TV digital desk, the packed road is, a result of mass overlapping between Saloon cars and heavy commercial vehicles.

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has however come forth to issue a traffic advisory to motorists using the highway to attend the ongoing 2023 WRC Safari Rally event.

“A section of the Northern corridor, between Naivasha and Nakuru, is experiencing heavy traffic congestion.”

“Motorists using the said section are advised to use the Naivasha- Njabini-Olkalou-Ol Joro Orok-Lanet-Nakuru road and vice versa as an alternative route,” KeNHA wrote on Twitter.

The traffic Marshalls are currently on the ground, coordinating the motorists stuck on the highway.

Today's 2023 WRC Safari Rally Sunday Schedule includes the Wolf Power Stage from 2 PM to 3:30 PM and the Prize-Giving Ceremony at 4:00 PM.

The World Rally Championship (WRC) event was officially flagged off by President William Ruto June 21, 2023 in Naivasha County alongside Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba.
