Police officers in Ebwambwa village in Kakamega County have rescued a 58 year old woman from an angry mob following the mysterious death of her 32 year old son Ezekiel Munanga with neighbors allegedly linking her to the death.
The villagers stormed Eunice Andaje’s home after allegations of her beating the son to death over lost maize after a bitter quarrel between the two.
Local administration led by area chief, Fanuel Lumumba say that the relationship between the two had been rough with the police suspecting that the victim was attacked with a blunt object while drunk.
The body of the deceased found decomposing in the house was moved to Kakamega mortuary for an autopsy as the woman was held for questioning.
Similar cases of people killing their loved ones have been reported from the western region. The recent one was an investigation by Police officers on an incident where a woman allegedly stabbed and killed her brother over a mattress feud.
According to the family the deceased Oscar Shioso, had confiscated a mattress that his sister Margaret was supposed to use, prompting a fight that led to his death.
