Millicent Omanga, former nominated senator, has launched a scathing attack on Cleophas Malala, the Secretary-General of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), accusing him of incompetence and nepotism in the recent party appointments.

Omanga, who was not included in the appointments, criticised Malala for allegedly favouring his acquaintances and relatives over hardworking individuals who played a significant role in the UDA's growth. She asserted that those appointed by Malala had contributed little to the party compared to dedicated hustlers who had invested their sweat and sacrifice in its rise.

In her critique, Omanga stated, "Allegations against UDA Secretary General Cleo Malala as pertains to incompetence & nepotism in appointments to leadership positions in the ruling party are unfortunate but not surprising. For a man who has been fixated with personal glory & selfish pursuit at the very expense..."

She continued by highlighting the importance of recognizing the efforts of all individuals who contributed to UDA's success and insisted that the party should not be led by someone who does not align with President William Ruto's vision.

“We won't allow our party to be run by an individual who doesn't carry H.E. President William Ruto's vision. All party members who fought for the party must get their fair share in the management of the party, or the chips will fall,” Omanga asserted.

The recent appointments, aimed at restructuring the secretariat, saw individuals like Alfred Makotsi, Victor Welden, Patience Kiti, Arnold Maliba, Joseph Akwiri, Betty Truphena Mbogo, Geoffrey Kipsang, Samuel Wetungu, Ong’wen Justine, Dominic Chege, Wangeci Linah, Momanyi Brian, Dickson Omari, Lucy Kaleke, Mulusa Evans, Catherine Gathoni, Amboye Shakila, Nicodemus Bore, Edwin Kipkoech, and Dennis Sadimu assume various roles within the party.

Malala defended his appointments, asserting that they were geared towards enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the UDA's operations.
