The 2023 Windsor Classic golf tournament came to a conclusion.
Michael Karanga won this year’s tournaments that were held at Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club.
Karanga who is a player from Kiambu Golf Club Amateur staked two over two hundred and eighteen from back to back wins in the Kenya Amateur Golf Championship series.
Uganda’s Godfrey Nsubuga finished in second place after getting carded four over two hundred and twenty on the par 72 course.
Bhavnish Chandaria of Muthaiga Golf Club came third in the podium after registering six over two hundred and twenty-two.
The Kenyan representative in the incoming Magical Kenya Open, John Lejirma, settled in fourth place after a post of eight over two hundred and twenty-two.
In addition, Josphat Rono of Golf Park came fifth after being carded nine over two hundred and twenty-five, ahead of Edgar Brian from Vetlab Sports Club who posted twelve over two hundred and twenty-eight.
However, professionals also competed in the Windsor Classic, Pro Rizwan Charania of Windsor Golf Club finished in first place with one under two hundred and fifteen.
David Wakhu settled second by recording two over two hundred and eighteen, he was followed by Kevin Mabele who finished in third place with four over two hundred and twenty. Jacob Okello managed six over two hundred and twenty-two, ahead of John Limb who posted eight over two hundred and twenty-four.
Elsewhere, in the ladies’ category, Naomi Wafula of Vipingo Ridge Golf Club emerged victorious after posting fifteen over two hundred thirty-one, in front of Joyce Wanjiru from Kiambu Golf Club who carded nineteen over two hundred and thirty-five.
The winners were awarded cash prizes in a colorful ceremony at the hosting Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club.
The tournament was held as a curtain raiser for the Magical Kenya Open which will be held on 9th to 12th this month at Muthaiga Golf Club.
