Matiang’i Fails to Appear Before the DCI Headquarters for Questioning

The Embattled Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i will not be appearing before the DCI along Kiambu road for questioning as it had been planned earlier.

Confirming the news, Matiangi’s lawyer Danstan Omari told the media that no valid summons was presented to his client for questioning by the DCI.

Matiang’i was to appear at the DCI headquarters to answer questions over his alleged home raid by police officers early in February.

The Ex- CS however welcomes any actions by officers, as it is within their constitutional duty.

Matiang'i was recently ordered to appear at DCI headquarters by Senior Superintendent of Police Michael Sang on the basis that he might have disseminated incorrect information on the supposed police raid a fortnight ago.
