Man Who Sealed Wife's Genitalia With Super Glue Jailed For 50 Years

James Kifo Muriuki, who abused his wife, has been issued a 50-year prison sentence by the Chuka Law court.

The suspect, who appeared before Principal Magistrate Njoki Kahara, was convicted of sexually abusing and seriously injuring his wife.

Kifo made headlines after causing harm to his wife on May 16, 2020.

Kifo led his wife to the river Kathita in Marimanti at night on that fateful day, ordering her to strip off her clothes and tell him about all the guys she had been with while he was away in Nairobi. Kifo told locals he worked as a watchman in Nairobi, but the police suspect he was involved in crime in the city.

In an incident that had left residents of Kamatungu village in shock, Kifo, who has been described as troublesome, did the act as their three-year-old son watched. Kifo started beating her after she hesitated, then he sprayed pepper, salt, and super glue on her genitalia. He then inserted the substance into the victim's genitalia with a knife. Locals in the area were drawn to the son's cries and rushed to the woman's aid.

Kifo was captured on May 21, 2020, at his hiding place in Kaningo, Kitui County, by a team of DCI investigators from the Special Crime Unit, DCI Tseikuru, and DCI from Tharaka South Sub County.

He was hiding out in the residence of James Murogi, a man rumored to be a witch.

Since then, the matter has continued with Kifo maintaining his innocence.
