A 28-year-old suspected paedophile was on Wednesday 18th arraigned in court by detectives based at the DCI child unit in Malindi over allegedly sexually assaulting young boys.

Patrick Mbauni was arrested in Malindi, Kilifi County on Wednesday last week after the DCI sleuths discovered distressing web footage that showed the 28-year-old sexually abusing the minors.

A report released by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations shows that the culprit runs a football foundation in Malindi, which he has been using to entice the kids before getting them involved in the act.

“The paedophile runs a football foundation in Malindi, which he has been using to lure innocent minors before engaging them in the beastly act,” the statement read.

The DCI went on to state that the medical test showed that the two minors were sexually abused.

“Medical test confirmed that the two minors have been sexually abused,” the report read.

Patrick Mbauni pleaded guilty before chief magistrate Hon. Elizabeth Osui at the Malindi law courts to two counts of defilement, 4 counts of child pornography and 4 counts of child trafficking.

The suspect is to remain in custody until February 7, when there will be a pre-bail hearing.
