After his younger brother, Richard Magoha, was laid to rest on Saturday of last week, a funeral committee has formed to plan the late George Magoha's burial.
On Wednesday, Julius Jwan, a former principal secretary for basic education and early learning, and a spokesman for the family and funeral committee, said that the meetings are proceeding as planned to give the deceased a dignified send-off.
Jwan claims that the committee consists of Magoha's relatives, associates, and acquaintances in the previous and current administration, as well as those in academics and medicine.
The family's appreciation for the support they have gotten from President William Ruto, previous President Uhuru Kenyatta, and Azimio leader Raila Odinga was also expressed by Jwan.
Although the date of Magoha's burial has not been made public, several family members have made suggestions that it may happen on February 11 at his Gem house in Siaya County.
On January 24, 2023, the former cabinet secretary for education passed away following a heart arrest.
He passed out at home and was sent to a hospital in Nairobi, where he was pronounced dead.
His passing occurred while the family was mourning the death of his brother, Alex Richard Magoha.
