Education CS Prof George Magoha has asked heads of schools not to send students home even if they haven’t completed their school fees.

Speaking at Mary Leaky High School located in Kabete Constituency, Nairobi County where he was officially opening classes for the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), Magoha emphasized the need to consider students whose study time was interrupted to allow for the general election.

“I request head teachers not to send students home because of school fees. God has enabled them to return safely. If there is a problem, solve it with the parent or the ministry,” said Magoha.

In addition, he explained the need to improve more basic structures in order to effectively care for a large number of students.

He also said that the release of funds for disabled students from the government will begin next week, adding that the project will be for four years for each student and not only one year as it was before.

He has thanked teachers and parents who have worked hard to ensure students are in school despite the difficult conditions of life and the consequences of closing schools before and even after the elections.
