Kenyan-based CNN international correspondent Larry Madowo has landed a new role at the Atlanta-based media house.
Announcing the news on their website, CNN says Madowo will now host the African Voices Change makers program which is a weekly show on CNN international.
The program will focus on African newsmakers making a difference on the continent.
Taking to his social media to announce the news. The excited Larry said it was a full circle moment for him reflecting on how he was first hosted on the show in 2017 as a Kenyan media star.
" I am really excited to announce that I will be presenting the African Voices Change makers program, we will be speaking to musicians, inventors’ and innovators, across the continent," said Madowo.
Madowo called on his supporters to follow him on his new journey and catch up with interesting content that will be shared through the media house’s platforms
Madowo will be the new host of long-running series African Voices Changemakers which profiles outstanding individuals across the African continent.
Since Joining CNN from BBC in 2021, CNN announced that Madowo has covered stories from around the globe.
“He has highlighted coronavirus vaccine inequality, reported on flooding in Nigeria, broadcast from Expo 2020 in Dubai and the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, anchored news shows from Atlanta, covered the Kenyan elections, and most recently reported from the World Economic Forum in Davos.”
The program that Madowo is set to host “African Voices” has aired on CNN International for over a decade.
