Kirinyaga Man Kills His 44-Year-Old Lover Burries Body in His House

A man is being sought by police in Mwea East, Kirinyaga County after it was reported that he killed his lover and buried his body inside their home in the village of Thiba North.

The body of Joyce Nginya, 44, was found days after the incident, according to Mwea-West Sub-County Deputy Police Commander Sammy Beauttah, who confirmed the incident. The incident happened on Sunday 26 February 2023 at night.

"The victim's family reported the incident to the Kiamaciri police station, and when we went to the residence, we discovered the victim's body. After receiving a court order from the Baricho law court, we began exhuming Joyce Nginya's body. She was buried in a shallow grave "said the chief of police.

The family members said that the deceased went missing on Sunday raising an alarm.

The woman is from Murang'a County, and her lover is from Makima in Embu.

As a manhunt for the suspect goes on, the deceased's body was transported to the mortuary at Kerugoya hospital.
